Sr. Warden

With summer vacations over and the Lodge back in action, We hope you had a good summer.

Your Lodge has a lot of work to do before the end of the year, we have new Brothers giving back their EA and Fellowcraft work we are working on having a Master Mason Degree in Nov. for the 2 Fellowcrafts. We also need to do a Fellowcraft for the 2 EA's and we have 3 Petitions to be voted on in Oct. so we also need to look and a EA degree.

If you would like to or are able to help with one of these degrees please contact one of your Lodge officers we always need help with a MM degree. You can see from the message from the East, the practice dates just show up if you can help, BUT MY BROTHERS, the best help you can give if unable to be in the degree is SHOW UP FOR THE DEGREE AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THE NEW BROTHERS, YOUR OFFICERS, AND YOUR LODGE.

The above goes for the sidelines when a new Brother is giving back his work. We need to show that we care about them and their work is important to the Lodge and to Masonry

Before long we have elections for the year 2008 if you don't know your Officers for this year how can you know who to elect for next year. Your Officers are making the meeting and only ask that you come as often as you are able.

From the Secretary

Brothers there are some important things we need to discuss. First, the members that have not paid their 2007 dues. Please my brothers send in your dues.

Second, the cost of putting out our Trestleboard with printing and postage is approaching $250.00 per mailing. We had to raise our dues for 2005 and don't want to do it again for some time. Therefore we have decided to E-mail it to as many Brothers as we can and to offer business size Ads in the Fishline for a fee. We now have two business's that have taking out Ads and we ask that as members of our lodge you help these people by using their services when needed. We also are looking for more Ads to help keep cost down anyone interested can contact me.

Finally it is costing us a lot of money for returned mail and remailing so PLEASE CONTACT ME WHEN YOU MOVE SO I CAN CORRECT YOUR ADDRESS. This will make sure you receive your Fishline and any other lodge information due you.

My home phone is (941) 953-6098 Cell is 356-8674 you can leave a message at both numbers

My address is 2419 Temple St, Sarasota, Fl 34239

If you plan on letting me E-Mail you the Fishline  please E-Mail me a note stating you would like to get it Via E-Mail and I will add your E-Mail address to the my list. My address is Handyland3@aol.com

                                                                                    Thanks Skip Land P.M.

From Your DDGM

My heart felt thanks goes out to the Lodges of our 27th Masonic District for your show of strength and support for our Grand Master and the various programs of the Grand Lodge of Florida.  There were 272 in attendance for the Grand Master's Official Visit at the Sahib Center and what a beautiful place for the event.  Please pass our appreciation on to the Divan of Sahib Shrine Center for use of the facility.

Brethren, be aware of the valuable contribution the District 27 Master Mason Association makes each year in helping fund this event.  Cost was reduced for each Lodge by 34% this year, so please make every effort in the future to attend or contribute to the fund raising activities of the Association.   It all comes back to the Lodges.

Special thanks go to Bros. Frank Albinson, Gil Fernandez, George Hernandez, Will Paterson, John Wermann, and Eric West for moving of lodge furniture and/or setting up of areas for the event;  George Hernandez for the Monday morning return of furnishings; Lou Ortt for the Lesser Lights; Venice Lodge for the Lighted "G"; Dwight Ridgeway for microphone/PA operation; Ted Simpkins, John Wermann and Frank Albinson for supervision of Lodge room set-up;  Frank Albinson, Bill Burris, and John Wermann for the long time at the men's sign-in table, and Diane Albinson and Shirley Myers for hosting the women's sign-in table.

Although listed in the program, I made a great oversight in failing to introduce our hard working Chairman for Child I.D., W\ Gene Jeffers, and also for the tyled meeting Bro. Chaplain Geoffrey Brophey, Secretary R\W\ Burris and Treasurer R\W\ West.  My apologies to all.  The Grand Master thanks us for an outstanding evening.

Fraternally, Jerry Goacher, DDGM D-27
