At the 188th Florida Grand Lodge Communication held May 31, 2017, Juan A. de la Rosa was installed District Deputy Grand Master of the 23rd Masonic District by Most Worshipful Richard G. Hoover, Grand Master of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Florida for 2017 – 2018.

Right Worshipful Juan de la Rosa was born May 23, 1971 in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Juan is the oldest of three boys. Growing up, Juan traveled throughout the United States and Europe as his father was a career military man. After graduating high school, Juan followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the United States Army in 1989. Juan remained in the Army for 10 years as both an Armor Crewman and then as Military Police. Juan is a combat veteran, serving in Desert Storm. After leaving the Army, Juan pursued college and obtained a degree in Nursing. Juan currently works at Sarasota Memorial Hospital where he has been for the last 12 years.

Right Worshipful Juan was raised as a Master Mason on June 28, 2008 at Sarasota Lodge No. 147. Juan was Master of his Lodge in 2013 after holding offices of Junior Steward, Junior Deacon, Senior Deacon, Junior Warden and Senior Warden. He also served on the Grand Lodge Committee of Public Relations and Education in 2014 and held office of Treasurer for his Lodge in 2014 and 2015.

Juan and his wife Pam were married on September 30, 2010. They have three children, Brian, Shaun and Eric. Pam is also in the field of nursing and is currently Director of Nursing for a local skilled nursing center. Juan and Pam enjoy riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle both locally and for short trips. Juan is an active member of Widows Sons, Samoor Grotto, and Scottish Rite.

Juan is looking forward to a challenging and exciting upcoming year as District Deputy Grand Master. Juan remains, both honored and humbled by this appointment.
